Manners Mall: an ode

by Hadyn on June 28, 2009 in Uncategorized

Ladies and Gentlemen, for your Sunday viewing pleasure here is local musician and comedian Robbie Ellis’ Manners Mall Emo Song (as performed at Raw Meat Mondays at the Fringe Bar this week)

Hadyn Green

Hadyn Green was New Zealand’s first rugby podcaster. Since then he has moved on to… um… podcasting about rugby AND other sport. Hadyn is easily recognisable by his hate of idiots.

Great song!!! I do feel for Manners Mall but hope that the city can get an even better space through an extreme makeover of lower Cuba Street … I’m holding judgement until I see that!

Well, I guess since the council team driving the demolition of Manners Mall have been justifying it by claiming that pedestrian malls are “failed experiements” we may as well get ready to rip up Cuba Mall, as well.

This video says more about Wellington and New Zealanders than http://www.kiwianarama.co.nz ever could. Both make me bark with laughter. Abrakebabra is a great place, albeit with dubious spelling.

I feel lucky to live in a city that can spawn such a song.
