Two teams enter, one team leaves.

I suppose actually both teams leave, except they leave at the same time, so it’s like one team. In any case this weekend Roller Derby Bout is going to be big. Thunderdome big!

It’s been exactly three months since the season kicked off with a triple-header bout featuring all three teams. Over three regular season games the two best teams have been found and now Smash Malice will take on Comic Slams in the grand final. And we have a double pass to give away (see below).

Neither team has an immediate advantage. Both have an excellent crop of rookie skaters who are stepping up at the right time. Both have crafty veterans. Both have a few players on the injury list. And most importantly, both teams have played each other (Slams won) and have watched their opponent play. And don’t think they don’t study. All of the games have been filmed so the teams can analyse them and figure out tactics.

I am going on record as saying this is going to be the best bout of the year. Last time Slams won by around 20 points. There is no way that is going to happen this time, Malice will keep it close. But close enough to win?

Do you want to go see this awesome head-to-head match? Let us know in the comments, and you’ll go in the draw for a double pass (we’ll draw it on Friday morning).

No pick me. My son is the biggest Slams fan ever. If you pick me we’ll make a sign for Bullet Surprise. If you don’t pick me we’ll make a sign for Ghetto Anger!!

Clearly it’s Boston Backlash who needs to be worshipped.

I’d love to get the double pass, please! I’ve never been to a roller derby match before, and this might be my last chance before I leave Wellington again.

Wow, so many good reasons to want to go to the derby. However there can be only one winner and random.org selected…. … Ben!

I expect to see that Bullet Surprise sign dude :) We’ll email you with the details.

Me, me, me! Derby is the only spectator sport I have EVER been into, and I’m feeling pretty good about being sporty. If you give me the double-pass I will cheer extra loud! (For Smash Malice, of course).
