It’s back! After months in exile while we had that big rugby party, Roller Derby is back on the menu.

On Saturday (just a few days before New Zealand’s world cup team begins its campaign in Toronto) all of the action will be right here in the capital as Wellington’s awesome Richter City Roller Derby takes on both Christchurch’s Dead End Derby and Hamilton’s Hellmilton Roller Ghouls.

And yes, we have tickets to give away! (see below)

• What: Roller Derby Double Header
• When: Dec 3^rd (doors open 5:30pm, first bout at 6pm and should be all wrapped up by 8:30pm)
• Where: TSB Arena
• How much: Presales are $13 including booking fee, from undertheradar.co.nz. Door sales are $15 cash.

This will be a double header event with two exciting bouts on the card.

6pm: For the curtain raiser bout, Richter City’s Convicts face Raggedy Angst of the Hellmilton Roller Ghouls (this is a shortened bout with 20min halves).

7pm: The main event will feature Wellington’s own Richter City All Stars facing off against the Dead End Derby All Stars from Christchurch. This is second half of a home-&-away series between the two teams (RCRD won the first).

So break out your purple and orange, make some noise and show these visiting teams how Wellington derby crowds are off the Richter scale. “R-C-R-D, Richter City!”

The TSB Arena needs a new name when Richter City skates there, but one that still incorporates the name of the sponsor, so: what does TSB stand for when Richter City skates there?
