Last night I caught the second of the "Double Feature of Despair", documentaries about Iraq. While Standard Operating Procedure dealt with catastrophic failure of moral leadership No End in Sight details the even greater failures of sheer, old-fashioned, practical management. At one point someone says, "there were 500 ways to do it wrong and one or two ways to do it right and we chose all 500 of the wrong ways". It's a management anti-textbook and you will leave furious at the crass stupidity of these clowns.

The Penthouse's choice of a cello-rich muzak version of REM's Everybody Hurts as pre-show was perfect.
