More after the jump
Brand loyalty:
- 10 people voted Terry Serepisos as both Supervillan and Wellingtonian of the year
- Hawthorn Lounge had the most nominations with 3; however, only 36 people voted them for all three.
- Scopa and the Bresolins had 3 nominations as well; however, only 10 people voted them for all three.
The people:
- There were 34 more female voters than male and roughly 8% of our votes came from transgendered people.
- We received votes from as far a field as San Diego and San Francisco, Bristol and London, New York and Toronto. And glancing at the comments we noticed that most of them missed not being in Wellington.
- From around New Zealand most votes came from Auckland but we do feel for the person who wrote "Taranaki :( "
- The suburbs that voted the most were Newtown, Te Aro and Mt Vic.
Some of the voter comments we liked:
- "Wellington suburbs need more bars."
- "Thorndon (yes, im better than you)"
- "It's so hard to pinpoint the best about Wellington cos it's all best!"
- "Glad to see epic was on the nomination for best breaky... the aussies cant make a b&e to save themselves."
- "Don't tell anyone at work that I voted for Kerry!"
- "Keyz is the ONLY thing on MY MIND!!!! Meow!!!" - We got a LOT of ones like this
- "John Mcgrath is a lovely man and Crazy Horse is the beast restaurant in Wellington"(sic)
- "Wellington rocks"
There were also critical comments that we have taken on board and will look to address for next year.
Thanks to everyone who voted and everyone who turned up on the night. We hope to do the same next year, so keep an ear out.
LOL
John Mcgrath is a lovely man and Crazy Horse is the beast restaurant in Wellington"(sic)
Comment obviously made by the man himself :))
Well, we could say that the survey results were anonymous. Or we could say that someone who made that remark might have lowered their esteem in our eyes to that of their bear-costume-shunning partner...
I'm sure that in years to come, Damian Christie will look back at December 2007 and his heart will be filled with regret at going to Afghanistan and missing the awards.
And he hopes he didn't say anything inane to Giovanni, because for the life of him, he can't rememeber them meeting.

What about money raised on the night?
