Post Hump-Day air humps for our favourite things
Submitted by Joanna on Thu, 2008-04-03 14:26.
To celebrate getting over Hump Day (Wednesday), here's the first in a series of things that the Wellingtonista is loving right now. Please feel free to add in your own current loves in the comments section.
- Good Luck's outdoor tables and $8 cocktail menu on Tuesdays & Wednesdays; mango batidas, raspberry caprioskas and plum daiquiris, oh my!

- Olive's early-bird deal (3 courses for $29 if you're out by 7:30) is pretty damned good.
- The lemon-lime sherbert cocktail at Superfino: sorbet, limoncello, Ketel One vodka and Foxton Fizz Lime.
- The $17 antipasto platter at Killias in Newtown, overflowing with chorizo, salami, meatballs, mushrooms, grilled peppers, olives, delicious fresh ciabatta, dips and an impressive breadstick structure.

- Port Cafe have brought back their separate takeaway menu, starting at $10 for 2 crumbed fish & chips, and getting cheaper as you buy in bulk.

That Wagamama is in the Entertainment Book (which is due out soon?) in its debut Wellington year.
Oh happy day!
Good tips, but would be nice if you included links to help find them.
I was going for a quick post of things at favourite Wellingtonista venues that I figured people already knew about, but since you ask:
Good Luck, Port Cafe, Olive Cafe, Superfino, and Kiallas is on Riddiford Street in Newtown opposite Constable Street.
Thanks Jo - I hadn't heard of Olive, Superfino or Kiallis... I must get out more.
How on earth do Kiallas make any money? That platter looks outta this world and I'm sure if you got that anywhere in the central city you'd be expected to pay closer to $30-$40. What a treat :)
Yeah it's insanely cheap and I recommend everyone get their asses in there and order two coffees to go with the platter and maybe something from their tempting dessert cabinet as well so as to help them make a profit!
We had breakfast at Kiallis this weekend. The service was a bit slow, but the end product was delicious. Esp the pancakes with rhubarb/citrus jam and some sort of tart cream.
