Getting excited about the awards? We are! There have been over 800 votes this year already (last year there were just over 500) and many of the categories are too close to call at the moment. If you haven't voted, bloody hell, do it now!

The TAWA ceremony itself (the best of all the Wellington blog-based award cermonies) is next Thursday at Mighty Mighty, so mark it down. In fact here's the simpler version:

There will be fun and prizes and not just for the hopeful nominees. The first 50 people through the door get "swag bags" and we've got spot prizes too.

We're going to have spot prizes and swag from Good Magazine, The Back Bencher, NZonScreen, Pretty Pretty Pretty, The Film Archive, Linden Leaves, SuperVery and Webstock as well as some other potential sponsors! UPDATE: Epic Beer is throwing us some product too.

After the awards we've got live music from Samuel Flynn Scott's 'other' band, Bunnies on Ponies, as well as some country laments from the Lonesome Cowboy and the Lap Stealers.

It's gonna be a big night with all the nervous excitement, red carpet glamour, suprises and explosive joy of the best award ceremonies. Mark the calendar, book the babysitter, sneak out of work (or call in "sick") and do what you have to do to come along.
