Wellingtonista Bar Fly-les

Submitted by Hadyn on Mon, 2008-01-14 09:44.

Wee tit-bits we found out while drinking in Wellington ("Fly-les" is meant to sound like "files" but doesn't really work when you write it down)

  • The awesome Superfino is open for business but without any pears to make their signature Poached Pear Punch! there are still heaps of Spaceman Candy Sticks though.
  • Kazu on Tory St now has BYO on Sundays. It's for wine only though, sorry vodka junkies

More as we (drunkenly) stumble across it.

Ok,I confess ~ this comment isn't drinking related. (unless were talking green tea here) I just had to let everyone know (those who were unawares at any rate) that there is this great new sushi place called Midori Sushi (on Willis st, next to the General Practitioners) I really Love what they've got. They do hand rolls, full rolls, packs , seawed salad, and those triangle things whose-name-which-escapes me etc etc. I dare say I like their sushi better than Midland's sushi as (a.)Midori's sushi is easier to eat (b.) they don't overflavor their rice and (c) There is more varirty.
Check it out Sushi lovers!

Thanks for your time :)

Yes, I'd seen that on the way, and it looked quite nice. I even wondered whether it was a branch of Midland Sushi, which I must admit I'd never tried because the queues put me off.

They'll face a bit of competition soon: Midland are opening up a branch in Chews Lane in a couple of months' time.

That should make it interesting! Also, the other good thing is that Midori has(albeit limited)seating.
You get a nice view of the people drinking beer on one of the adjacent balconies of the GP! I got beer envy last time :P

Here's another vote for midori sushi ;)

Also, Hi.

Hi Mike! :D
