Boganwatch

AC/DC - the greatest band on the planet - are playing in Wellington tonight and Saturday on the Black Ice tour, and the city has been overrun by bogans, glorious bogans.
Stuff reports on the invasion, including a quote from one fan who reckons, "I'd say every bogan from around the country will be there."
Meanwhile, the arrival of our black-T-shirted brethren has not gone unnoticed on Twitter:
@CUSTOMSBREWBAR ghuznee street is crawling with old bogans... so many black jeans and metal tshirts! "Throw your goats up"
@meganhuddleston There are a ridiculous number of bogans in town. THUNDER!
@bnolan Lol at all the bogans outside. It's awesome how you can just tell they're going to ACDC. Super nice people so far too! Rock on! #acdc #wlg
@Narelle_NZ Saw at least 15 bogans and 2 mini-bogans on the way to get lunch #acdc #wellington
@bradgallen Today wellington = So. Many. Bogans...
@missannajane The black holey jumpers and ACDC t-shirts are out en force on the streets of Wellington. Apparently, bogans drink Starbucks.
We welcome any comments or observations of the bogan invasion. Man, Wellington is gonna go off this weekend!

you could almost say we've become Boganville... bom-tish
Currently listdening to them soundcheck. From Mt Cook. Have heard reports of the Thursday show being heard as far away as Island Bay.
Soundcheck was louder than the gig - I don't know if that's due to the large number of bodies soaking up the noise or whether they crank it hard in practice in case they need the extra volume to beat the wind should it arise.
Gig approx 2/3 as loud as s/check.
Thurs nite heard fairly clearly in Khandallah.
The main surprise for me was the average age of the audience.
Let's all show these South Islanders a great time cos they've been good to me on the Mainland every time I've visited. Shoulda been a gig in Chch or, even better, Dunnos!
City Council got 9 complaints on Thursday night - including Island Bay, Karori, Newtown, Khandallah and Newlands. People could apparently hear it in Strathmore. No District Plan rules broken, however (supposed to be max 75 dB near the Stadium in Hobson Street, Thorndon - no complaints from Thorndon). Whoever designed the Stadium did a good job.
cheers, Richard MacLean - WCC Communications
I was there last night, everyone was in black, i wore pink and white, safe to say i bought me a AC/DC tshirt to stop getting stared at by bogans. Such a great concert!
Thursday night: songs recognisable in Owhiro Bay. Whoa....
