Just confirming what we all knew

Submitted by The Masked Barfly on Monday, 14 Jul 2008.

I'm not usually a political fly, but I do like raking muck, so I couldn't resist posting this image from a campaign poster. Thanks to the (deeply flawed, of course) Electoral Finance Act, now we know who's really behind the National Party:

Photobucket

Any suggestion that they're financed by C Untts would be vulgar sock-puppetry, so I won't stoop to that. Oh, if you insist.

What point are you trying to make?

Take a gander at what the arrow is pointing to. It looks like a rude (and hence funny) word.

Are you trying to say that Stephen Franks spells his name with an arrow instead of an E? Because if you are, that's a fairly serious allegation.

I think if he did, he'd have the arrow pointing upwards. I would anyway.

The arrow makes him seem more dynamic. Gone are the days of Stephen, now are the days of Stepharrown!

We could call him Blue Arrow! (Although Black Arrow sounds better).

I believe the implication of the limp arrow pointing downwards is some kind of sexual slur about Franks.

Sometimes (saw this somewhere else only today) a cigar is just a cigar. And an arrow is just pointing to something we want you to look at.

But if Mr Franks happens to see this, may I suggest you use a lightning bolt.

BTW - send my regards to your sister Suzy.

See? the Electoral Finance Act does have some good points, if unintentional!
