Looking UP 2007

Submitted by Tom on Wed, 2007-01-10 16:43.

Want to know what the New Year holds? Well, come along to What's UP - 2007 on Thursday the 24th to hear predictions for 2007 from a group of infallible experts: or "bloggers", as we like to call ourselves.

A group of more-or-less well-known local bloggers (including the (in)famous DPF, Tom "WellUrban" Beard, techno-prophet Hamish McEwan and Mr Geekzone himself, Mauricio Freitas), will make rash forecasts about the Internet, gadgets & games, business and telecommunications, technology and (my particular field) Wellington & NZ.

The evening will be run by Unlimited Potential, a networking group for young(ish) IT and creative professionals. It's a members-only event, but membership is free. Besides, not only will you get to pick the brains of the cream of local bloggerati (and me), but there's free beer and pizza at the end. The details:

Wednesday 24th January 2007
5:30pm for a 6pm start
Creative HQ, 25 Marion Street, Wellington.

What--no women? That's so 2006. So, yeah, thanks, but no thanks.

I see readers of the afore mentioned blogs can make predictions too... Even women readers... Maybe Wellington does need more women in IT in general.

I for one am looking forward to the event. Especially if there is going to be a techno-prophet there. I see there are only a couple of spaces left..

A woman complaining about a lack of women representation and not doing anything about it? That's so 2005. Please please suggest a woman blogger, cos you have raised a valid point.
