With Swagger

Often with the Wellingtonista we tell you things. Today, however, we're asking for things. Specifically:
1. Swag: Wellington is going to be having its first Girl Geek dinner, and I'm putting together Swag Bags - if you have something you'd like to put in around 50 bags for 50 technologically-minded and intelligent women, please get in touch - johubris @ gmail.com.
2. Contra: Last night lots of us attended a Bloggers' Meet-Up, and the awesome Epic Beer came up with some lubrication to get us started. The Wellingtonista absolutely would be very very keen on doing this sort of thing more often. We're working on our guidelines, and templates to allow space for brand exposure, but this is just a heads up: if you offer good products or services, and want to reach our smart readers who like disposing of their incomes, we would like to work with you, so get in touch.

Our fleet of Wellingtonista cars is coming up for renewing... hint hint...
Hybrids would help avoid the guilt...
Also Jo, could we get some suggestions for what geek girls would like in their swag?
Ponies!
Or more specifically:
- pretty much the same things that geek boys would like
- consumables: food, drink, snacks
- usables: things to make us pretty and smell like girl
- spendables: vouchers for discounts on goods and services
- gadgetry
And as we are intelligent people, we favour local producers who think about the environment and humanity with their products.
You might put the info for the next bloggers' meet-up somewhere other than bloody Facebook...
I get the feeling it was heavily twittered and blogged about as well, just not here
A fair call 'keith b' but there has to be some central "calling place" - Facebook just happens to be it (it could've been a gazillion others but it wasn't)
Others did blog it before, during and after.
And as 'anon' said it was Twittered left-right-and-centre.
Could you suggest some other ways of getting the word out and then we could give them a go.
And it was a Facebook Wellington Bloggers Group meet-up, not a Wellingtonista Bloggers meet-up.
But yeah, we could have mentioned it here. Our collective bad.
Oh, I'm not saying I didn't know about it. My point was more a general "facebook is annoying" one.
If it is to be a regular event, though, I'd say girl geek dinners shows the way: domains are cheap, so is hosting, and "blogger meetup 6pm at Mighty Mighty, www.bloggerbeer.org.nz" still fits into a tweet.
Sweet Keith, drop us a comment when you've got the site up and running and we'll add it to our blogroll.
nice to also remember
nobody gets paid for these things
So you know
Which things, Sue? Contra? I thought that was the very nature of contra... although its payment of a sort, ain't it?
We don't get paid for writing the Wellingtonista, Stephen (or do you?), hence why we might not have total coverage of each and every thing that happens in this city, although we try our best.
Ahhhh... she's talking about the Wellingtonista. Gotcha.
