  • Tom at Wel­lUrb­an has an excel­lent scheme for spru­cing up the rather ugly con­crete bases that sup­port the vari­ous ver­andah columns down Cuba Street.
  • Fleet FM – star­ted (and increas­ingly pop­u­lar) in Auck­land, is a low-power FM sta­tion run by music enthu­si­asts that is now up and run­ning in Wel­ling­ton on 107.3Fm. Good music, recom­men­ded.
  • Wel­ling­ton bands Phoenix Found­a­tion, Shi­had and Fat Freddy’s Drop are three of the five bands nom­in­ated for this years NZ Music Awards Best Album Award. (The Phoenix Found­a­tion’s Buda talks about the mak­ing of their album Pegas­us in a recent inteview over at Sali­ent). Oth­er Welly acts and people up for gongs include Brooke Fraser, Audi­osauce and Trin­i­ty­roots.
