Climate of Fair
I know, I know, super-bad pun but the folks here at Wellingtonista seem to have really really high pun thresholds….
Anyway, this Saturday being part of a long weekend there are a lot of events competing for your attention out there in Wellington. We have Craft 2.0 Fair at the Dowse as Sue has already posted, I will be working the kids table and it would definitely be my pick for tomorrow. However maybe some of you can’t make it to the Hutt or want a few more options in central Welly.
- San Franciso Bath House is home to Good Shit Sale Day. There will be stalls from: ALC HQ, Artikel, Boombox Gallery, Empire Skate, Good As Gold, Hunters and Collectors, Iko Iko, Madame Fancy Pants, Miss Wong, Much, Pop Up, Swonderful, WPS & Ziggurat. The sale runs from 11am until 5pm with music from MAREK, KAVA, HEAVY D & GUESTS. (Details on the Facebook invite here).
- The 350 global day of action on climate change will kick off tomorrow with a dawn ceremony on Brooklyn hill with karakia, drumming and a gaggle of BBC and CNN media standing by to capture your best environmentally concerned face. Picks ups will be available from the corner of Aro Street and Ohiro Road at 5.45am for those who eschew car ownership and are made of stern early rising, eco-friendly stuff. (Other activities planned for 350 Wellington on the waterfront can be found on the 350 website).
- Frocks on Bikes have a few things planned that should dovetail attractively into the 350 events. If you are feeling sanguine about the weather and feel like frocking up, displaying your wheels and getting your picnic on check out the details here.
