Letterboxes for Writers & Readers Week

I'm just guessing that the reason the letterbox outside Borders Bookstore in Lambton Quay has been happily talking to itself (possibly with Emily Perkins' voice) all week, has something to do with Writers & Readers Week.
That NZ Post are sponsors of the week kind of supports that theory.
Has anyone heard any other postal paraphernalia talking to them?
Please say it's not just me...
The box outside Postshop Manners.
The seats on the waterfront looking over the Te Papa duck pond...
There's a speaker outside Molly's on Courtenay Place, and some in the lifts at NZ Post House which are, by all accounts, slightly more than annoying.
Yes, and its going to be very funny when a bunch of drunk Irishmen rip it down during St Paddy celebrations.
=)
This more than explains why I've heard voices in random places such as the Courtenay Place bus stop (Kilbirnie-bound). Well, in addition to my normal voices, of course.
The one on Courtney Place has a middle-aged woman excitedly reading some purple prose about the red man and green man of the pedestrian crossing lights.
Anyone waiting to cross the road is a captive audience, but most pedestrians I saw had a "Oh, just shut up!" look on their face.
About a month ago I saw an ad at the airport where the baggage carousel was compared to a black snake. Wow, that's rool poetic.
I guess the idea is bring literature out of such elitist environments as, er, Whitcoulls, and on to a place that is normally devoid of poetry, such as the street. Er...

Post boxes I get, but I've seen ATMs also reading out Writers and Readers Week plugs. I'm not sure I get that connection so easily...?
