About 50 min­utes dri­ve North of Wellingon on State High­way 1, is the turnoff to Te Horo beach. On the cor­ner on your left, is Hyde Park, a small craft & cafe com­plex that boasts an excel­lent brunch & cof­fee. And an adjoin­ing mem­o­ra­bil­ia muse­um which Welling­ton­ista fam­i­lies swear is haunt­ed.

Well worth a look any­way. And the muse­um is free.
