The guy at the CHINA out­let in the Courte­nay Cen­tral com­plex has twice claimed to me that his BBQ pork is the best in town.

Imag­ine my sur­prise: he is right! It’s sweet, ten­der, suc­cu­lent, and in a pleas­ant twist — ver­mil­ion-coloured at its extrem­i­ties rather than the tra­di­tion­al crim­son.

The BBQ Pork Noo­dle Soup that it comes in is pret­ty good, too. Or, you can take it on rice with a deli­cious gravy.

(Now, if only he would tell me that indeed YES, they are serv­ing the adver­tised Roast Duck Noo­dle Soup instead of being “right out of duck”).
