Wel­ling­ton Rape Crisis believes that edu­ca­tion is a vital tool in the pre­ven­tion of rape and sexu­al abuse. Earli­er this year they had to cut their ser­vices by 20% because of a lack of fund­ing.  The com­munity respon­ded by donat­ing money. Though they have met their cur­rent budget short­fall thanks to a huge com­munity response they are always in need of funds and sup­port.

Wel­ling­ton Rape Crisis provides free sup­port and coun­sel­ing for sur­viv­ors of rape and sexu­al abuse, their fam­il­ies, friends and whanau. While they are thrilled at the res­ults of recent fun­drais­ing, Wel­ling­ton Rape Crisis is still not fully or sus­tain­ably fun­ded and con­tin­ues to rely on com­munity dona­tions and sup­port in a dif­fi­cult fund­ing envir­on­ment.

STAND UP For Wel­ling­ton Rape Crisis is a comed­ic vari­ety fun­draiser fea­tur­ing loc­al comedi­ans, impro­vis­ors, and musi­cians in an event to cel­eb­rate the work of Wel­ling­ton Rape Crisis and to raise funds and aware­ness.
