The frame for this impro­vised show is: exper­i­enced impro­vis­ors Jen­nifer O’Sul­li­van and Matt Pow­ell are joined on stage by a mys­tery guest. (They really have no idea who the guest is.) Once the guest arrives (on open­ing night it was Jonny Paul)  the audi­ence will provide a word which will be the inspir­a­tion for the show.

It’s so enjoy­able to watch tal­en­ted impro­vis­ors play on stage. Improv is about pick­ing up the offers that oth­er play­ers lay down which is why some­times a per­fectly reg­u­lar Ant­arc­tica travel scene can sud­denly turn into a ter­rible epi­dem­ic where people are first bit­ten by pen­guins and then turn into pen­guins them­selves only to bite oth­er people etc etc. Not everything is this fanci­ful. It can be poignant. Very often it’s funny because impro­vis­ors like to make the audi­ence (and each oth­er) laugh. This group were attuned to each oth­ers entrances and exits mean­ing that the flow of the scenes seemed nat­ur­al and it was very rare that someone talked over someone else. Good fun.

Christine Brooks selects the guest, Sam Tip­pett is in charge of keep­ing them mys­ter­i­ous, Matt Hut­ton provides music­al accom­pani­ment and Chris was on lights.
