Have you ever considered flatting in Melbourne? Wondered what to look for in a flatmate? What are the red flags, green flags, rainbow flags to look for?

Grab a tea and a blanket and cosy up for Nick Robertson’s Fringe Festival adventure, Everything That Happened at Number 68.

As Nick shares with us, “Sharehouses come and go, but some of them stay with us forever, whether we like it or not. Number 68 was one of those houses.”

Our packed Saturday night crowd at BATS are poised on the edge of our seats, tea in hand, drinking up Nick’s delicious storytelling detailing drunken parties, bonfire mishaps, smug rabbits and bathroom secrets, wanting more.

Thankfully Nick’s show continues in Dunedin Fringe at New Athenaeum Theatre till Sunday. Let’s hope for many return seasons because we can’t wait to see Nick’s skilfully crafted tales return with new adventures to haul us along for this bumpy ride.

Flat brunches, concert outings and picnic excursions are a regular at my Wellington flat, not to mention trips to the theatre and this is a bonding experience to add to our list.

Right now we’re sitting around the table, listening to Homegrown bands warm up, planning our afternoon of concerts and strolls down the waterfront for their last festival in Wellington, and possibly our last festival together as a flat.

Everything That Happened at Number 68 has given me pause to appreciate the finer moments and the friends that have become family through sharing a roof and memorable moments like this together.

For a memorable night out, look out for Nick Robertson’s upcoming shows. Nick is a talent to watch so catch him while you can before this smooth rabbit bounces off to overseas success.
