1. You have 30 sec­onds to con­vince some­one to come to Welling­ton. What’s your pitch?

Welling­ton is one of the most beau­ti­ful com­pact cafe and cul­tur­al cen­tres in the world.

2. How do you think traf­fic flow to the hos­pi­tal and air­port could be improved?

Traf­fic flow to the hos­pi­tal and air­port could be improved by hav­ing mode shift from pri­vate to pub­lic with light rail, park and ride on bus and cycle.

3. Where do you stand on the issue of open­ing up gov­ern­ment data?

I believe gov­ern­ment data should be made more open to the pub­lic.

4. What plans have do you have to improve recycling/composting facil­i­ties?

Pub­lic com­post­ing and recy­cling while ener­gy inten­sive should take place here rather than in Chi­na as is the case with most recy­cled mate­ri­als now.

5. What is your pol­i­cy on street alco­holics?

Help find a place for the drinkers

6. Do you sup­port pedes­tri­an­i­sa­tion of the Gold­en Mile? Why/Why not?

Not sure it would work but would be hap­py to give it a try in parts with the agree­ment of stake­hold­ers and the com­mu­ni­ty.

7. What’s the last local mar­ket you went to? What did you buy?

Vic­to­ria Mar­ket to buy Broc­coli, cel­ery, bok choy.

8. Describe your bicy­cle, or your favourite bus route?

Avan­ti Mon­tari dual pur­pose bike with road tyres and twen­ty four gear options and disc brakes

9. When did you last use the library, a com­mu­ni­ty cen­tre, or a coun­cil-run sports facil­i­ty?

New­town com­mu­ni­ty Cen­tre for a res­i­dents meet­ing.

10. Would you wel­come a cen­tral gov­ern­ment dri­ven “super-city” amal­ga­ma­tion of local author­i­ties? If not, why not?

I oppose a super city for Welling­ton as it would make democ­ra­cy too dif­fi­cult for cit­i­zens to engage with at the local lev­el.

11. Do you think the coun­cil has a role in fos­ter­ing com­mu­ni­ty web­sites? If so, how?

Coun­cil has a role in fos­ter­ing Com­mu­ni­ty web­site as they are key to shar­ing infor­ma­tion and should run by the Library.

12. Where do you stand on water privi­ti­sa­tion, and why?

I oppose water pri­vati­sa­tion because it is a fun­da­men­tal right and should be deliv­ered at cost and not for prof­it.

13. What city over­seas inspires your vision for Welling­ton? How?

14. Is the con­cept of demo­c­ra­t­ic rep­re­sen­ta­tion impor­tant to you? How so?

Demo­c­ra­t­ic rep­re­sen­ta­tion pro­vides the pos­si­bil­i­ty of empow­er­ing the com­mu­ni­ty.

15. What do you think about com­muu­ni­ty gar­dens on pub­lic land?

Com­mu­ni­ty gar­dens on pub­lic land are an impor­tant way to assist those on low incomes and a good way to save ener­gy.
