But is it totally empty or totally not full?New York has the Manhattan, and Metropolis has the Metropolitan, but what is Wellington’s signature drink? In order to answer that question, we here at the Wellingtonista Towers have decided to launch the search for the perfect Wellingtonista. What’s in the drink, you ask? Well, that’s up to you. Yes, that’s right, it’s our very first competition!

What we want from you is the recipe for a Wellingtonista. The drink must a) be tasty and b) represent our fair city. Here’s a few suggestions of possible drink elements that we came up with to get you started:

  • Garnish the drink with an inside-out cocktail umbrella in a tribute to the wind, or two sparklers to represent the sparks from trolley bus wires
  • Use Black Sambuca because everyone in Wellington wears black
  • Honey would be a good way of symbolising the Beehive

You get the general idea, and if you don’t, please feel free to sleep with your favourite bartender (we want a report back on that) so that they’ll create your drink for you.
