The guy at the CHINA out­let in the Cour­tenay Cent­ral com­plex has twice claimed to me that his BBQ pork is the best in town.

Ima­gine my sur­prise: he is right! It’s sweet, tender, suc­cu­lent, and in a pleas­ant twist – ver­mil­ion-col­oured at its extremit­ies rather than the tra­di­tion­al crim­son.

The BBQ Pork Noodle Soup that it comes in is pretty good, too. Or, you can take it on rice with a deli­cious gravy.

(Now, if only he would tell me that indeed YES, they are serving the advert­ised Roast Duck Noodle Soup instead of being “right out of duck”).
