fat freddy's drop Big ups to Welling­ton band Fat Fred­dy’s Drop, who cleaned up at last night’s NZ Music Awards. The Lyall Bay-based band picked up Album of the Year (‘Based on a True Sto­ry’), Best Group, Best Roots Album, and the Peo­ple’s Choice Award.

Fel­low Welling­to­ni­ans Shi­had also got the nod for best Rock album, leav­ing a bunch of most­ly Auck­lan­ders to fight it out for the var­i­ous hip-hop, elec­tron­ic, solo artist and sin­gles awards.
