So I’m going to declare right up front that I work for Zest Food Tours of New Zea­l­and before I con­grat­u­late them on 10 years of suc­cess this month.  No mean feat in the some­times-fickle tourism/hospitality industry.

And rated one of the world’s top 10 Walk­ing Tours for Globe­trot­ting Food­ies by Lonely Plan­et this year.  Way to go Zest!

Cath and Sue star­ted Zest in 2003 when real­ising vis­it­ors to the city (pre­dom­in­antly the new cruise vari­ety) were lim­ited to stand­ard offer­ings like the Cable Car, Mt Vic­tor­ia lookout, Botan­ic­al Gar­dens and Par­lia­ment (pretty much).

What bet­ter way to give vis­it­ors a taste of Wel­ling­ton’s fab­ulous food, cof­fee, charm and cul­ture than walk­ing food tours they thought? (and yes, it does mean the cal­or­ies inhaled go right out through the feet again!).

And ten years on, Zest now oper­ates in Mar­tin­bor­ough (and no, we won’t make you walk to get there!), Duned­in, Pon­sonby and Auck­land City, with a range of lan­guage skills and fas­cin­at­ing back­grounds across the guid­ing group.

As well as vis­it­ors to the city, Zest provides offer­ings for cor­por­ate events, Christ­mas events, con­fer­ence groups, behind-the-scenes Wel­ling­ton on a Plate events, hens parties and more (cup-cake dec­or­at­ing com­pet­i­tion any­one?).  Just ask.
