Carter Obser­vat­ory, that big old bubble up on the hill, is run­ning a pho­to­graphy con­test with a butt­load of prizes, and you should enter it. The title is “Light & Dark” and any­thing under that goes.  Judges include Mark Gee, who you may remem­ber from such moon pho­tos as this.

There’s a kids’ cat­egory too, and we’ve heard a whis­per not too many have entered this sec­tion, so your young per­son (up to and includ­ing age 14) stands a good chance of tak­ing home an iPad mini and a ses­sion in the Cap­it­al E Digit­al Stu­di­os for their whole class.
