People often come to DCM because they have run out of money and can’t buy food.

But that’s not the start or the fin­ish, when a per­son vis­its DCM for help they look at the under­ly­ing reas­ons that have brought them to the Food­bank. So instead of just being the net at the bot­tom of the cliff they can see how in oth­er ways they can help.

Because DCM depends entirely on dona­tions from the pub­lic to assist people in this way, they hold two Food­bank Appeals per year – and the next, to stock shelves ahead of winter, will be this Sat­urday, 17 May.

New World Chaf­fers (9:30am‑7:30pm)

New World Metro (9:45am‑5:45pm) to col­lect dona­tions.

Here’s the list the won­der­ful DCM volun­teers will be hand­ing out to shop­pers on Sat­urday, so if you can donate this week­end maybe you can buy some of these things anoth­er time and drop them in at DCM HQ Com­pas­sion House, 2 Lukes Lane.

Volun­teers are always needed before and dur­ing book­fair – maybe you have an amaz­ing know­ledge of a spe­cif­ic genre of book and can help price books fairly, maybe you have strong arms and can help pack books, and espe­cially dur­ing book­fair maybe you can keep the book tables stocked, and sell books.
