Music to brew your beer to

Wellington on a Plate is well known for its exquisite dining, incredible burgers and interesting events and this year San Fran are putting on a fantastic series.

Music2Brew2 brings together three Wellington breweries who have been brewing under the influence.

Inspired by three Wellington bands Panhead, Garage Project and Tuatara have all brewed a beer that will be on show accompanied by the band. A night out with live music and fresh beer wouldn’t be complete without food and in this case it’s all coming full circle with Wellington musician-cum-chef Iain Gordon, of Fat Freddy’s Drop fame, putting together matched dishes for each band and brewery.

And luckily for us, this doesn’t all happen on one evening.

First up: Friday 21st there’s Panhead and The Nudge. We’re told there’s a Black IPA on offer alongside Smoked Salt Marsh Rump, duck fat chips, Panhead Black IPA reduction, kale and red cabbage slaw.

Then: Thursday 27th there’s Garage Project with All Star Grunt Ensemble featuring members of the NZSO with David Long, Joel Haines, Hamish McKeich, Luke Buda and Johnny Marks. Word has it there’ll be two new Garage Project releases available!!

And wrapping up Music2Brew2 on Friday 28th in New Orleans Second-Line style is Tuatara and The Richter City Rebels.

Tickets are $49 and not only include 3 x 200ml tastings and food matches* but also live performances from each of the bands. That’s darn good value.

Local offerings of live music, craft beer and fine food. A great way to begin the weekend, especially with so much else happening as part of Wellington on a Plate.

*Additional food and beverages available at cash bar.

Caution: If the risk of “BBQ reggae” influences or the word ‘beer’ brings to mind the phrase “swill of the masses” consider yourself warned. 😉
