On Thurs­day night the Annu­al 2010 Whitireia Stu­dent Con­tem­po­rary Jew­ellery Auc­tion will be held at Mighty Mighty with Nation­al Radio pre­sen­ter Kim Hill con­trol­ling the ham­mer as auc­tion­eer. Donat­ed con­tem­po­rary jew­ellery is being sent from all over New Zealand for the event includ­ing pieces from con­tem­po­rary jew­ellery prac­ti­tion­ers Peter Deck­ers, Matthew McIn­tyre Wil­son and Owen Mapp.

Pro­gres­sive new wave pieces will go home with the high­est bid­der on the night; the event is an amaz­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty to walk away with an orig­i­nal piece from estab­lished names in con­tem­po­rary jew­ellery, as well as emerg­ing artists.

Pro­ceeds will go to the print­ing costs of the 2010 Jew­ellery Cat­a­logue, called ‘The Com­plete Ques­tion Mark’.

Enjoy enter­tain­ment and flow­ing drinks as the doors open from 5pm where you can view the work. Kim Hill will begin the auc­tion pro­ceed­ings 6.30pm sharp.
