Wellington five-piece The Thomas Oliver Band have spent the past few years touring and playing live throughout New Zealand with the likes of Fat Freddy’s Drop, Gin Wigmore and Britain’s Oli Brown. Within this time the band have also written and recorded their debut full-length album Baby, I’ll Play to be released in early 2011.

The release of the second single and title track ‘Baby, I’ll Play’ in late October 2010 follows the success of ‘Goin’ Home’ released in February and selected for the Best Music Video category at the Rushes SOHO Shorts Festival in London. A second video from Weta Productions director Jennifer Quinlin accompanies the new single.

To celebrate the video release, the Thomas Oliver Band play at San Francisco Bathhouse on Friday 29 October 2010. Tickets are available from 1‑Night.co.nz (which is a clever service we really should post about sometime) and Real Groovy for $15 (no booking fee), or $20 on the door.

EDIT: Oh! But we have a double pass to give away! If you want to win, leave us a comment naming another famous Thomas, and we’ll draw one at random next Thursday. Yay!
