Sky Dancer in concertWe’re grownups at the Welling­ton­ista, well, unless there’s a fart joke to be made, so when there’s a Nation­al Arts Fes­ti­val for Chil­dren, we thought it would be good to get some chil­dren involved, so here are three reviews of Sky Dancer.

Hen­ry, age 11:

 “Sky Dancer was not like any­thing I have seen before. It was sur­pris­ing how the orches­tra could tell a sto­ry through sounds. The drums were amaz­ing, just like thun­der. The pup­pets and movies helped us under­stand what was hap­pen­ing. We saw the writer there. Now I want to read the whole sto­ry! (Ed: Sky Dancer by Witi Ihi­maera)”
Bel­la, age 8:
 “The birds were awe­some! Pup­pets and peo­ple!”
Finn, age 9:
“I went to the Sky Dancer show. The show was about two teams of birds that were fight­ing each oth­er. Then a girl came and brought peace.
The light­ing was excep­tion­al and the pup­pet work was done well too. I thought the show was quite loud but the music did tell the sto­ry well.”
