On Wednesday night, Mix & Mash was launched at the City Gallery, asking people to use data to make new things. Of course, our Tom has been doing that for years, but painfully by hand, I believe. That shouldn’t put you off entering, rather it should inspire you.

In fact, you should go read the Mix & Mash website now, because I’m about to go off on a rant about the City Gallery, or more specifically, their policy of not allowing drinks in their auditorium. Because apparently they are Hoyts Cinema or something. Okay, I understand why they won’t let red wine be served. I have friends who’d like to have that same rule in their house. And although all the people floating around to protect the art works are spooky, I understand why they feel the need to keep their eyes on things of value. But there is no art in the auditorium. All there is are uncomfortable seats and no internet. WHY CAN’T WE DRINK IN THERE? It doesn’t make any sense, and it makes for much less animated evenings.
