So we had some awards

In fact some of us right now are cel­eb­rat­ing those awards, at the most lovely of loc­a­tions, the Mighty Mighty.

But if you were unable to make it to the TAWAS here’s how you all voted.

Expect a review of the night later on tomor­row, and by later on I mean after after­noon tea.

For right now many of the wel­ling­tonista are shak­ing their thing to the sounds of the Klezmer Rebs.

Also hope­fully Hadyn who is the king of stats will offer up some ana­lys­is of the way you voted.

And if you havn’t already why not head over to the DCM and give a little. As I write at this very moment $10 has been donated to DCM. If every­one who reads this blog dont­ated $5 each, togeth­er  we will  make a ser­i­ous dif­fer­ence in the lives of Wel­ling­to­ni­ans who are most at risk and in need this Christ­mas.

Holy crap­sticks, there’s less than a week to go until the Fourth Annu­al Wel­ling­tonista Awards! You already know, of course, that you need to vote before Decem­ber 15, and that the doors to the Awards Cere­mony open at 6.30pm on Decem­ber 17 at Mighty Mighty. We’ve told you about the Klezmer Rebs who are play­ing, but we haven’t men­tioned that there’ll be a secret music­al inter­lude. And we also haven’t told you about the awe­some spot prizes we have to give away on the night, so let’s do that now:

In the last month or so we’ve col­lec­ted nom­in­a­tions for the vari­ous cat­egor­ies in the Fourth Annu­al Wel­ling­tonista Awards; we’ve writ­ten them all up for you to read; we’ve handed out cer­ti­fic­ates to (most of) the nom­in­ees (if you’ve been nom­in­ated and haven’t got yours yet, hold tight, I’ve been some­what occu­pied else­where – Jo); and we’ve gen­er­ally been liv­ing in anti­cip­a­tion of This Very Moment.

For now… [drum roll please] …it is your turn.

You need to vote, in each of the cat­egor­ies, for whom you think should win one of the coveted T4WAs.

And you need to do that, right here, right now. But only one com­pleted sur­vey per per­son, please!

Vot­ing is open from now through to mid­day on Decem­ber 15th. And once you’ve voted, you should clear a space in your cal­en­dar for the Awards Cere­mony, which will be at Mighty Mighty on Decem­ber 17th (Add the event on Face­book if you roll that way). The awards present­a­tion should be hap­pen­ing around 7.30pm, and then at 9.30pm we are very excited to have the Klezmer Rebs play­ing tunes for us all to shake our tuchasses to!

It does­n’t mat­ter how good the food is at a res­taur­ant or how com­fort­able a bar’s stools are if the staff scowl at you and dump your order down grump­ily in front of you. What makes us loy­al cus­tom­ers is the inter­ac­tion with the people on the oth­er side of the cus­tom­er, and these men and women are the shin­ing stars in their field. Being served by them really does make the day bet­ter.
