Wanted: great T‑shirt designs
All you budding young clothes designers out there should be getting whatever it is you use to design clothes ready for The Hinitiative and Wellington City Mission T‑Shirt design contest that kicked off this week.
Open to all Wellington high school students, entries will be judged by a panel that includes Wellington fashion designer, Robyn Mathieson, clothing stores Fusion Surf & Skate and Rex Royale, and The Church design company. The first place winner takes home $300 in store vouchers. Second, third also get store vouchers, but not quite so many. In addition, all four finalists will have their winning designs produced into t‑shirts by The Hinitiative and sold by selected stores in Wellington to help benefit Wellington City Mission.
Do good, and look good doing it.

Beautiful Mash
We all know that in Wellington, everyone and their dogs are already busy making films of some description already, but for any aspiring film-makers not currently up to their eyeballs in digital video, here’s your chance. LOOP Recordings want you to make a video for Adi Dick’s song “Beautiful View”.
They’re providing you with nearly a Gigabyte of green-screen footage of the singer, then handing it over to you to mash it up with your own footage or animation to create your interpretation of the song. You have until the 20th of May.
Spend it
Wellington may be New Zealand’s most exciting city, but that’s not enough to earn us one of Wallpaper*s City Guides. Almost as galling as the news that Auckland will get one next year is the fact that this disqualifies us from entering Gridskipper’s $100 a day contest and winning the complete set of guides.
Still, that shouldn’t stop us. What’s the best way to blow US$100 (about $150 Kiwi) in Wellington in a day?

Anyway, if you think you are funny, register yourself for the Wellington Comedy Club’s Rookie competition, taking place at the San Francisco Bathhouse on October 21st (as per the Comedy Club’s website), or maybe the the 19th of October (as per Newtown Ghetto Anger’s website).
